The Dardine family was last seen alive on November 17, 1987.

The family of three, soon to be four, lived in the small town of Aina, Illinois, which you may

remember from our last episode, the one we did on the unsolved murder of Susan Lund.

Susan's partial remains were found in Aina on the outskirts of a state park seemingly

tossed from a moving vehicle.

So does this case have anything to do with Susan's, or is it just coincidence?

It's just a coincidence. Other than the location, there's nothing that these cases have in common.

Well, that's not true, but they're not related to

each other. I said that because in each case, a pregnant woman is murdered. And so yes, they have

something in common, but there's no evidence to suggest that they're related. So to the best of my

knowledge, the location is just a coincidence. Susan's murder and the Dardine family murders

aren't related. On that note, this small town in

Southern Illinois saw a fair amount of violence in the late 80s and early 90s for its size, which

may help when it comes to explaining the coincidence. And this is another one of those really

unfortunate stories, a story that haunted the residents and law enforcement officers of this
