podcasts related to this case. So all of my research came from printed media. Because of that, I wasn't able

to determine how the victim pronounced her last name. It's one of those names that has several

common pronunciations. Therefore, I had to choose one, and if I got it wrong, I truly apologize.

With that being said, Laura Saseer was last seen alive on December 6, 1996. She was 25 years old at the time

and stationed at Fort Campbell, which is an army base located in southernmost Kentucky, astride the

Tennessee state line. Laura was a soldier, an army sergeant for whom the military had been a natural

fit. Growing up, she'd always been incredibly

strong and intensely athletic. Her parents had often described her as a tomboy. During her teen years,

she'd been a star softball, soccer, and basketball player, and even a champion arm wrestler.

That's a diverse set of skills. Yes, and to my surprise, being a champion arm wrestler is a real thing.

According to an article published in the Cincinnati Inquirer, when Laura was a high school junior, she competed in the Southern Ohio arm wrestling championships and one third place overall.
