served that I'm able to tell you. A man has been arrested for the first-degree murder of Faith Hedgepeth.

As you likely remember, if you've listened to our episode on Faith's Unsolved Murder,

she was a 19-year-old student and aspiring pediatrician at the University of North Carolina

when she was beaten to death in September of 2012.

It took nine years and nine days of diligent investigation, but detectives have finally

arrested 28-year-old Miguel Enrique Soguero Olivares of Durham, North Carolina.

He's currently being held in jail without bond.

So, who is this person who so brutally and cruelly ended Faith's very promising life?

Let me tell you what I've been able to find out so far.

Silguero Olivaris is originally from Guatemala, but has been living in the U.S. since 2010.

Since arriving, he's worked

at a variety of jobs, including as a painter and at a restaurant. Although he was the same age

as Faith at the time of her death, 19, he wasn't a student at UNC at the time, nor has he ever been.

However, he's lived in the area surrounding the university for years.

And investigators say that while working Faith's case, his name did come up in the beginning.
