which features the Unsolved Homicide of David Cox. The original edition was recorded in 2020,

and we've revisited and re-recorded an episode on his case in 2025.

As I'm sure those of you who've been listening since the early days of last seen alive have noticed,

our production and audio quality have improved significantly over the years.

Lately, we've been working on remaking our earlier episodes.

When we originally recorded them, we were doing the best we knew how

at the time. However, our best wasn't the best, and we've learned a lot since then. We want to honor

those victims by telling their stories with the production quality they deserve, so we've been

completely remaking all of our early episodes, including this one. David Cox was last seen alive on January 5th,

1994. He was 27 years old at the time and disappeared from Natick, Massachusetts. That's a town just a few

miles outside of Boston. But in order to understand this story, we need to go back a few years to a

different time and place,

Cuba during the summer of 1986. At that time, David was an active duty U.S. Marine, having

enlisted along with his best friend the year before at the age of 18. David was incredibly

proud to be a Marine and didn't complain even when, at age 19, he was assigned to a

less than desirable base, Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba. Much like the location, David's job there

was a challenging one too. He was assigned to a rifle security company, one of two that operated

on the island, each composed of about 30 Marines,
