Summary

When a teen disappears from a rural Virginia farming town in the fall of 2022, his remains are soon found in a clandestine woodland grave, buried beneath layers of lye and cement. Cian Carroll was last seen alive on November 2nd, 2022.

He was 17 years old at the time and living in the small farming town of Cambridge, Virginia.

However, he hadn't been living there long, just months before he'd moved

there from the state's capital city, Richmond. He'd lived there with his mom, Tiffany. However,

like any city, Richmond has neighborhoods that experience higher than average levels of violent crime,

and the area they lived in wasn't the safest. As Cian grew older, Tiffany worried that he would

get wrapped up with the wrong people and the wrong places and potentially fall victim to the

violence she'd seen ravaged the lives of some other teens in the area. And that was the last

thing she wanted for her son, who was outgoing, loving, and ultimately still just a kid. So she decided that a

change of place would be the best way to ensure his safety. At a young age, he was already exhibiting

qualities that would serve him well in adult life. For example, he was a hard worker and took a lot

of pride in his job at a fast food restaurant, and she didn't want

his future derailed by any of the pitfalls of life in a higher crime area. Fortunately, her own mom,

Sion's grandmother, lived in the sort of place that was ostensibly far removed from all of that.
