There's no question that the islands of Hawaii are some of the most beautiful places you'll

ever see here on Earth.

Don't let that fool you into thinking this paradise is without a share of mystery and intrigue.

In fact, you could argue that when something weird happens here, it's even creepier because

nothing should be amiss in the wondrous Aloha state.

Here are the top five strangest and creepy mysteries from Hawaii.

5. Stairway to Heaven Disappearance

Hidden amidst the lush mountains of Waianai, Oahu, is a place with an eerie allure in Stairway to Heaven.

But far from its name, this tourist hot spot will become the side of one of the country's

most mysterious disappearance cases ever.

In 2015, Daelin Mokipua, Sagabai to his family, and boarded a bus to Waianai.

He was headed there to visit his grandmother and had plans to hike the forbidden haiku stairs,

aka the Stairway to Heaven.

These stairs are Steve 3,922 step steel structure, which is once the only access point

to a former US Navy Communications Facility in Oahu.

Constructed in 1942, the site was used to transmit signals to Navy ships operating in the Pacific.

Then in the 1950s, the station got decommissioned, and the trail was then officially closed to the

public in 1987. On February 27th of 2015, Mokipua told his grandmother, as plans for the day,

concerned about the intensity of the hike she strongly advised against it, but the 17-year-old had

to take the adventure on himself. This area of the island is beautiful and green.

Anyone going would need to take pictures, and that's exactly what he did.

He texted a few of them to his family, and that was the last communication he ever had with them.
