Joan Hall, who went by Joni, was last seen alive on September 30th,

1983. She was 17 years old at the time and lived in Warrington, Oregon. Warrington is a small

coastal town that sits on the water in the northwestern most part of the state and is home to a few

thousand people. Joney lived there with

her parents and siblings. Their family was large and close-knit. She was one of six kids and had

other family, cousins, aunts and uncles, etc. in town as well. Joney was a high school senior and

was known as a quiet, conscientious and ambitious girl. On the day of her

disappearance, a Friday, after finishing the school day, she had plans to meet up with her

aunt and help her with her work. Her aunt was a local third grade teacher, and Joanie, herself

a straight-A student, planned to walk from the high school to the elementary school where she

would help grade papers

and tutor kids who needed some extra help with their schoolwork.

This was something Joni did regularly and she loved kids,

so as far as she was concerned, this would be a very enjoyable way to spend Friday afternoon.
