Dale Kerstetter was last seen alive on September 12, 1987. At 50 years old, Dale was on the brink of retirement and had a lot to look forward to. He was an involved in caring father of six

and a grandfather of two. Retiring would mean more time to spend with his family and to spend on

his hobbies, such as hunting and trapping. Dale lived in Bradford,

Pennsylvania, which is a very small town located in the northernmost part of the state, just a short

distance away from the New York state line and from Canada, for that matter. The little town is

adjacent to the Allegheny National Forest and far from any large cities, so it was a place that naturally

lent itself to outdoor pursuits like the ones Dale enjoyed. Bradford was also home to a Corning

Glassworks plant where Dale had spent the last 27 years working as a maintenance technician.

After serving in the Air Force during his early adult years, he'd returned to his home state of
