Amanda Galleon was last seen alive on October 13th,

1997. At the time, she'd just turned 14 years old and was new in town. She and her parents had

moved to Gillette, Wyoming, only about six weeks prior. Before that, they'd lived in the Kansas City area.

This was a huge change for Amanda and her family. It takes about 12 hours to drive between Kansas City and Gillette, Wyoming.

Not to mention the Kansas City area is one of the American Midwest's busier metroplexes.

On the other hand, Wyoming is the least populated state in the entire U.S.

The number of people who call it home is so sparse that Gillette, with its population of about 32,000 people, is actually the third largest city in the state.

Yeah, I imagine the entire state being a far cry from Kansas City.

Definitely, it was a huge shift in scenery for the

Galleon family, and it wasn't the only major change they'd recently endured either. Earlier that year,
