You came to me with the idea.

What was behind it?

Well, so what we're going to talk about today is the daily prayer, and many of the listeners have not only heard about it but pray daily, the daily prayer, but I've always been intrigued by how did that come about, how did

this prayer that thousands and thousands are praying around the world, how did

it come into being and then how did you know actually John you know from your

experience how to structure it and why is what is in there and why is what isn't

not and so I just thought it'd be a fascinating conversation for us and for the

listeners. Yep. This happens to all of us in our spiritual life, you know, the

things that were wow revelatory and exciting to you, you know, 10, 15, 20 years ago for some of our

listeners, 40, 50 years ago, is just your normal now, and you forget the ground you've covered and you forget the

lessons you've learned and you don't realize that it might need explaining to the people in your world.

And so what this is going to give us the opportunity to do, friends,

I think you're going to find this to be very, very rich.

We're going to unpack the daily prayer, but it's an opportunity for us to also just

make some observations about the power of God in our lives,

the work of God in our lives, how prayer works, why it works, and what I want to say to begin with is, over the years, I have had so many delightful conversations at a conference in a bookstore, airports, people stopping me to say, oh, thank you, thank you

for the daily prayer.

I love it. It's made an incredible difference in my life.
