And I am so excited I've been waiting to interview David Lipski literally for a year

since I saw his Rolling Stone piece, how Sun Myung Moon digested the scientists and fueled

climate change denial. And for all my regular listeners, you know that I was in the Moon,

he's cult. And so I know all about the Washington Times and it's propagandistic history and it's

editors with the Council of National Policy, etc. But man, oh man, I rushed out and I bought his book,

The Parrot and the Iglo, Climate and the Science of Denial, David Lipsky,

New York Times bestselling author. David, I just want to read some laudatories about you.

You are a contributing writer for Rolling Stone. Of course, you did that piece.

You are the author of the New York Times bestsellers, absolutely American, and although,

of course, you end up becoming yourself, which was the basis for the acclaim movie,

the end of the tour. You've written for the New Yorker, New York Times, Harper's, American

life, all things considered, man, you've been everywhere. But now I want to say about the book.

So I want to read some of the literature just to set it up because there isn't a day that goes by

that we don't hear some horrible stories somewhere around the world of a thousand-year event, but they're happening every day.

And your book, it was really educational. What a well-researched book you have.

So you explored in it how anti-science became virulent in American life through the history of climate denial

and its consequences. Climate change has become an unavoidable fact and an ongoing catastrophe.

The science was clear decades ago. How did so many Americans come to doubt evidence so widely

accepted and compelling?
