Hello and welcome to Enlightened Empaths. Today we're going to be talking about the pineal gland,

which is often called the third eye or the seat of the soul. For centuries, mystics, philosophers,

and scientists alike have been captivated by a tiny pine coat-shaped gland nestled deep within our brains.

And despite its small size, roughly the size of a grain of rice, the pineal gland is believed

by many to be a gateway to higher consciousness, intuition, and even spiritual awakening.

But what exactly is it? How has it been viewed throughout history? And most

importantly, how can we unlock its full potential in our lives? You know what I love about this is that

you and I have always said for years and years that everyone has the capacity to connect more

fully with spirit. And the fact that

there's a physiological gland that we all possess, that they're saying is that seed of the soul,

is that connection. I just really adore when there's something specific and logical and real

that can apply to something that's a little more esoteric.

I do too, and I love it when science meets history and lore and mythology,

and it all comes together in a way that is very, very, very real.

Because, you know, the story of the pineal gland does not belong to science alone, but it does

belong to history and philosophy. We know from modern science that there are physiological

functions of the pineal gland. It regulates our sleep cycles through melatonin production,

but the spiritual significance has gone on and on and on for millennia throughout

the years. And I think the most famous guy to talk about it was Western philosopher René Descartes.
