All the nutritional epidemiology and things that are good for us can be accounted for by the production of nitric oxide.

0:07.0

So if you don't have the right oral microbiome or you don't have stomach acid because you're taking in acids, then this completely shuts down the body's

0:13.6

ability to make nitric oxide. People who've been on in acids for three to five years

0:17.2

have 40% higher incidence of heart attacks, stroke, and Alzheimer's. Holy crop.

0:21.5

And all that can be explained by shutting down nitric

0:24.1

oxide production.

0:26.7

All right guys we got Dr Nathan Bryan here we're going to talk about the importance of nitric

0:33.2

oxide, which prior to researching you, I've never really heard about it, so I'm excited for this one,

0:37.2

man. Thanks for coming on.

0:38.2

Thanks for having me.

0:39.2

Yeah, it's something you've studied for 20 years now.

0:41.2

A little bit more than 20 years. Yeah, made a career out of it. Wow you've

0:44.3

devoted your whole career to this. So let's dive into this. What have you researched about it?

0:48.6

Well really I got introduced to the field of nitricoxide in late 90s shortly after

0:53.6

Nobel Prize was awarded for its discovery so the scientific and

0:56.4

medical community knew it was an important molecule important discovery but

1:00.4

because it's a gas that's produced the lining of the blood vessel when it's gone in less than a second

1:04.4

You know 25 years ago there wasn't a lot of

1:07.8

Techniques or analytical methods where you could detect physiological amounts of nitric oxide

1:13.3

And then perhaps most importantly,

1:14.7

we didn't really understand how humans made nitricoxide.

1:17.4

We didn't know what went wrong in people that could make it.
