Hello, Ashling. It's nice to be with you.

We're here today to discuss a topic that is reasonably well known, I'd say in left circles, maybe less so in mainstream circles.

It intersects with a lot of what people are talking about these days in terms of police brutality

and increasing militarisation of police. But it also gets into sometimes uncomfortable or sometimes unresolved issues on the left, I think,

and how we view past and present movements.

Today, we're going to be talking about move and the move bombing.

Oren, you're going to be kind of leading the discussion on this because

you know the subject better than me. So, why does this topic interest you? A couple of reasons,

I think. You know, I mean, I think right off the bat, the reason the move bombing itself and then the

move organization are interesting are, I think if

you go up to someone and you say, hey, do you remember the time the police bombed this organization

in the city? People look at you like you're ridiculous as though that never happened. Or people are

like, oh, well, that must have happened a very long time ago. But as you and I were discussing

before we started the episode,

the 35th anniversary of the move bombing just happened. This was, the move bombing is a

millennial, right? It's like, we're not that far removed from when the city of Philadelphia,

and we'll discuss the surrounding things, but dropped a bomb just on a house, on a row house

in West Philly. So I think that in and of itself is

interesting. But then also the move organization and the aftermath of the bombing have a couple

of different interesting threads that I've been thinking about for a little while and that I think
