Hey everyone, Luke here. Earlier this week, we received the disappointing news that Bernie Sanders was

suspending his campaign for president. It's as yet unclear why Bernie chose precisely this moment to

bow out, but I assume the fiasco in Wisconsin, where people were sent to vote despite the risk to

public health, and Joe Biden's refusal to debate him again had a lot to do with it. It's basically

impossible to campaign or

get out the vote under these circumstances, and the DNC was clearly determined to shudder the race.

It's upsetting, to say the least, given how close Bernie came this time. For a few blissful weeks

earlier this year, it really did feel like we were on the cusp of something transformative

and remarkable. But alas, we've been trying to get extra

content for you guys, as I know we're all stuck at home, and I thought this was a good at time

as any to talk to Carl Bayer, who I've wanted to have on the show for some time. Carl is a sharp

political analyst and a talented writer, and the two of us spent about 40 minutes discussing the

Bernie campaign and its unfortunate outcome. I hope you enjoyed the discussion.
