I'm here with Brianna Joy Gray.

She is a former and now once again current, current affairs contributing editor.

She is also a former politics editor for The Intercept, but most recently she has spent the entirety

of the Bernie Sanders campaign as the press secretary of the Bernie Sanders campaign.

And I am talking to her because

first I want to welcome her back to current affairs after long absence in which we have missed

her terribly. Thank you, Nathan. Jay Robinson. I missed you guys all so very much. I mean it when I say

that I'm so happy to be able to work with the smartest and kindest people I know. It's truly,

truly true. You guys are big, bleeding, beautiful hearts, and I love each and every one of you.

Well, we've had so much fun together. The, you know, the current affairs live show last January,

which is a fantastic success in Washington, D.C. feels like it was a million years ago.

To take, I think the opportunity of a lifetime in some ways, because as I understand it, it's been

quite an experience.

It has been.

I mean, I still reflect on the fact that I couldn't believe that anybody was ever going

to allow me to kind of write my opinion for a living.

I thought that that was something that was well beyond what I would

ever be able to achieve. And when a career in journalism presented itself after those first few

freelance pieces that you were so gracious to publish and current affairs took off, I had already

peaked in my mind and achieved my wildest dreams. And then for this Bernie campaign to come along and think that I was at all qualified and well-positioned to do that job and to put that faith in me was an enormously humbling experience that I will always treasure.

And it was a true honor to be able to serve Brady Sanders for this past year.

Well, you and I are both big Bernie fans.
