Hello and welcome to the Saturday August 3rd 2019 edition of Tesla Daily on

official Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we are talking

about free unlimited supercharging for Model S&X, a new Audi E-Tron, and then a pretty

cool Tesla story from Reddit. Tesla stock on the day on Friday finishing up 0.21% to

$234.34 cents this compared to the NASDAQ down 1.32%.

All right so the biggest news of today is Tesla tweeting out that they will be bringing back free unlimited

supercharging for new orders of Model S and Model X.

So this is a pretty controversial move and one that Tesla has struggled with internally in the past and they seem to continue to struggle with

I think this has got to be the third or fourth time that this has been taken away and then come back and

Last time Tesla took it away Elon Musk tweeted quote

Sorry it's not really sustainable at volume production

and doesn't incent optimal behavior.

We probably should have ended this earlier, end quote.

This also comes after the Q2 earnings call when Elon said,

quote, demand should be higher for S&X than it is,

and we'll get to the bottom of it and fix it.

And so it should come as no surprise that

Tesla is pulling a demand lever for S SNX, but personally I have mixed

feelings on free unlimited supercharging being that lever.

So a couple of important points that Elon mentioned saying, quote, not really sustainable

at volume production and quote the

volume production part of this statement is key it would likely be very suboptimal
