Oh, Hello everyone and welcome to Talk Nurdy.

Today is Monday, November 5th. Wow, it's already November 2018 and I'm your host Kara Santa Maria and I

apologize that I am posting this pretty late in the day for some of you on the

East Coast or in other countries it may already be Tuesday.

And I apologize for the state of my voice.

It's because I just finished up with SciCom Camp 2018. It's our fourth annual this year and oh my gosh it was the best

one yet. We just had so much fun. If you were there at Saikom Camp I want to

thank you for coming and making it such an amazing experience.

If you didn't have a chance to come and you're interested in science communication,

I really do urge you to check it out because it's just like I it's hard to explain how great the community is, how great the opportunities are there.

It's kind of not anything like it seems.

I don't know, I don't know.

It's one of these things where you just have to go to understand what I mean, but it's a great science communication retreat, training opportunity, networking opportunity. Those all sound like gross buzzwords. It's just so much more than that.

Okay, enough about that. Spiel. Oh, also some kind of cool stuff happened just before that.

I was on Jeopardy earlier last week reading clues for the new National Geographic

Almanac 2019 that was super cool I've posted it on my social channels and I'll try

to share it again so that you can find it but you can

probably look it up online as well.

Kind of a career highlight there.

And yeah, two books out right now, The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, and the National Geographic Almanac 2019.
