| 0:00.0 | This is trivia for kids, where it's not just for adults anymore. |
| 0:15.0 | Hello. Hello everybody. We're here again. Thanks for taking the time to listen to our voices. Episode 73 |
| 0:33.1 | of Trivia for Kids of the podcast. I'm Casey. I'm Quinn. And we're excited to be here today with you |
| 0:39.1 | to talk about some new stuff. So I was going to talk to you guys about our show and why we do it the way |
| 0:46.5 | we do it. Um, because I've gotten some feedback a few times that when we give the answers to the |
| 0:52.5 | questions that we talk too much and then the episode is too |
| 0:55.4 | long and people wish that we would just say the question and move on. But I find that when I'm |
| 1:02.1 | learning, if I just hear the answer and I don't really get any explanation for it, I don't remember |
| 1:08.4 | what the answer was. And since I'm a real proponent of lifelong learning, |
| 1:14.5 | I want people to retain this information. And so let me give you an example. Last week, we did a |
| 1:20.6 | panda category and one of the questions was about true or false pandas hibernate like other bears. |
| 1:26.1 | And the answer was false. And then we went ahead to tell you |
| 1:29.2 | that the reason that they don't is because they don't store enough fat in their body because all they |
| 1:34.2 | eat is bamboo and bamboo doesn't have enough fat for them to be able to sleep through the winter. |
| 1:40.5 | So I feel like, you know, once you know why they don't hibernate, you can better remember that fact. |
| 1:47.6 | So that's why we do what we do and why we talk about a little more afterward is for better retention. |
| 1:54.1 | Because I feel like, you know, we'll learn more and we'll be able to remember stuff better. |
| 2:00.4 | Would you agree, Quinn? Yes, I do. |
| 2:02.8 | How are things with you, Quinner? Tired. Oh, you're tired? Yes. Did you have to get up too |
| 2:09.4 | early this morning? Did we wake you up? My sister put a stuffed animal on my mouth. |
| 2:13.5 | What? She put a stuffed animal in your mouth? Yeah. |
| 2:17.7 | We'll have to talk to her about that. |
