Hello, I'm Martin Lewis, and this is the cunningly named the Martin Lewis podcast.

I do wonder what that's going to be about.

Now, usually, much of it comes from my BBC Radio 5 live show with Nihal Arthur Nyaka.

But we've got rid of Nihal this week.

It's just us. It's a podcast

only special, all about student finance and the massive changes coming in September for anyone

from England planning to go. So, if that's you and you're a prospective student, or perhaps

you're a parent of an under 18,

it doesn't matter even if they're 10 or 11, this is the system that is likely to affect them.

You really should listen.

And my favourite moment, listen out for it, it's coming, is the mother, who you can hear,

audibly breathe a sigh of relief when she realizes she will be able to afford

for her daughter to go to uni. Plus, an important warning for anybody who's on a fixed-rate

energy tariff, good news for first direct customers, and it looks like the dead ringers are at it

again. I'm still not sure it sounds like me.
