Over the coming nine weeks, we're talking about the nine core practices that summarize the easy yoke of Jesus. We talked about prayer a week

ago and today we go to the practice of scripture. We want to increasingly become a community of courageous fidelity to orthodoxy in a culture

of ideological compromise through the practice of scripture.

And today I get to teach not solo but with my good friend Tim Mackie.

Now Tim is the co-founder of an amazing ministry called the Bible Project which I'm

sure many of you are familiar with. I could not recommend it highly enough

for anyone who wants to understand scripture more or bring thoughtful

questions to the Bible.

But Tim, to us of course, is a member of our community, a brother and a friend.

A question that I often get asked by people as a pastor

is, do you get nervous before you preach on Sundays?

And I always say, no, can you imagine

if you got really nervous every Monday

when you went to work?

That would be unbearable to keep doing this for any length of time.
