I was a 20-year-old college student at Princeton, and I got a call from my girlfriend that I really didn't expect.

And I was hoping that I would never get.

And it was to tell me that she was pregnant.

She was 19.

We were both undergrads there.

She was a sophomore. I was a junior. And when I got that

call, life just slowed down and became this kind of amazing period where I just really didn't know

what to do. Anyway, when she came back to campus, after our Christmas break, she went to student health services and got the

pregnancy test done and the nurse comes out and confirms what she had hoped wouldn't be the nose,

which was that she was pregnant. And the nurse without taking an extra gulp of air, then said,

now, of course, you're going to have an abortion. And my girlfriend said, I don't want to have an abortion. I want to
