I've been teaching science for about 15 years.

Not in the school system, not at a university, but in my home.

I'm a homeschool mom, And my kids dissect frogs at our kitchen

table and set off chemical explosions in our driveway. I'm sure the neighbors have a lot to talk about.

I'm Christina Hannan, by the way, and my husband and I shared part of our story on the unfolding last week.

I wanted to share something with you that I learned while teaching science to my kids,

because it has honestly changed my life, especially the way I think about money.

Now, you might want to throw a flag on that and say that money doesn't have

anything to do with science. But let me tell you this story. I was driving late one night and everyone

in the van had fallen asleep. So it was just me, the open road, and my whole head full of anxious, worried thoughts about how we were going to pay for some unexpected repairs.

And as I drove and worried, I looked up at the night sky and it was just covered in beautiful stars. It reminded me of what

my kids and I had just learned in science that week. Did you know that on the planet Neptune,

when it rains, scientists believe that it rains diamonds diamonds can you imagine here i was

driving a dilapidated minivan full of kids that need new shoes and heading home to a broken down washing machine and a car

waiting to be picked up from the repair shop.

And somewhere out in that dark night sky, just out of reach, there's a planet where diamonds are raining down from the sky.

What a dichotomy of wealth and need.

God is so rich, he can pick a planet rain diamonds.

A site that has to be so beautiful, and yet no one will ever see it.

And no one can ever mine it for their own advantage.
