Maybe you've heard of these moments where chemicals were introduced to human bodies at levels

that are unthinkable. Today, Walt, a Navy veteran and a hospice chaplain,

at a very young age due to his exposure of burn pits.

But it's not just a story about loss.

I'm a Navy veteran and a hospice chaplain.

And with Memorial Day on the horizon, it makes me reflect and think back to service members

that I've known personally that have passed line of duty.

I know in my early days in the Navy on deployment, we had a couple of individuals that we lost out of our ship's crew and was firsthand with that and the things that went on there.

But what's really on my heart today is actually a young man that I just met recently

who was on hospice services with the hospice group that I'm a part of.

Typically, with hospice, people are older.

And so anytime we get the phone call and the news is that the person is younger, that's always challenging, and this particular instance was very challenging.
