Summary

The majority of this episode was originally recorded with an anonymous guest in February, 2021. After hearing the devastating news of SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade, she and I jumped back on the mic to share how we are feeling, how this impacts someone who has previously gotten an abortion, what we can do to help, and how it feels to be a woman in 2022. Then, we replay the original episode where she shares the story of her unplanned pregnancy her senior year of college. She shares the moment she found out, how her friends and family helped her through it, why she decided to not tell the guy she had slept with, the trauma she's dealt with as a result of the unplanned pregnancy, how you can support your friends who are going through something similar, and more.

Hello and welcome back for another episode of seeing other people.

0:10.4

This is a very important, very special, very different, kind of never been done before

0:18.6

episode here on seeing other people. I recorded in the

0:22.8

beginning of 2021 an episode with an anonymous guest. It was the first kind of unfiltered episode and

0:29.1

one of the things that sparked the whole series. And it was about a girl getting a unplanned

0:36.7

pregnancy when she was in college. And we had her come on and she

0:43.5

shared her story and what it was like going through. And it's been a really hard few days and

0:49.3

a really hard week since hearing the news about Roe v. Wade, and I know everyone's feeling it in different

0:55.9

ways and everyone's trying to figure out what they can do. And it's a really scary, really

1:01.3

difficult time to be a woman. I wanted to bring back that episode and kind of re-release it because

1:07.9

just for anyone who's scared, for anyone who's confused, for anyone who just

1:12.8

wants to hear about what it's like to even go through that process of finding out that

1:19.1

you're pregnant and deciding to get an abortion. Obviously, it's going to be incredibly

1:23.1

different now in many states and in many ways. But I reached back out to that guest who actually,

1:29.6

this was not mentioned the first time around, but she is one of my best friends. And I am so

1:37.8

honored to have her as a friend. She's so strong. She's so incredible. And she actually had the

1:42.7

idea, instead of just re-releasing the episode,

1:44.9

she was like, well, why don't I come on and do a follow-up? And we just talk about what's going on

1:49.8

right now. So here she is. Welcome. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you, as always,

1:55.7

for having me back on the episode. It is pretty insane that we have to have this follow-up conversation. I was

2:04.1

extremely privileged in my experience that I was able to get to a Planned Parenthood, that I had the
