Summary

In today’s episode Heather is joined by model and author Paulina Porizkova for a raw and unfiltered conversation. Heather and Paulina explore the aftermath of a sudden death and betrayal along with the awakening that came with it–an experience that Heather knows all too well. They also discuss the double whammy of grieving during a pandemic which proved to be a particularly isolating experience. You know what they say though, shadows are the biggest indicators of the light to come! Both being in their 50’s, Heather and Paulina are opening up about aging in the spotlight and Heather reveals the reason she hasn’t had plastic surgery…Plus get ready to laugh as these two self-proclaimed “wallpaper wh*res” open up about their love of wallpaper and Paulina’s venture into the dating world (all the apps included). It’s an episode you don’t want to miss! All that and more on Heather Dubrow’s World.

So what's the biggest misconception about models.

2:17.0

Oh God well about models in general I can't really tell you because I might hold some of them myself.

2:26.0

You know look the facts about models are is that they are very young women their girls so and the expectations that are then placed on you know to speak and to be you know to to be somehow inspirational to other young women.

2:45.0

It's a lot for basically a high school girl you know or a college age girl and I think the misconceptions sort of stem from that is that you know when you hold up these these young girls into the public light and you have these great expectations that they're also I guess supposed to be you know super smart super

worldly super well spoken and they're just kids yeah they're just kids I also think I find a lot of people when they talk about you know their children modeling or different people modeling is that they think it's just standing and looking pretty and and being a model is it's it's a it's a job I mean there's so much that's

kind of heatstroke you know when it's 115 it's not just that it's that as a model you're using your face and your body for for your work right this is what you get paid for and so what you learn are these kind of specific sort of

4:38.0

muscular body movements and and you know expressions and like where is that where where is the light good and how do I make this garment look good it's all physical and so and you know that your whole

attitude with this and how do you become a better model while you become more self aware of your outside has very little to do with your inside to actually be a really good model you just have to have that sort of I
