A new measure of the economy released just a short time ago.

The Consumer Price Index shows inflation has slowed to an annual growth of 2.7%. That was at a smaller rate than expected, but economists warned this is a deeply flawed report. And it comes as President Trump defends his economy very forcefully in a primetime address.

He says the country is enjoying a record start to his second term, and he blames any economic pain on his predecessor.
