Episode 3.

This podcast is intended for an adult audience. Previously on Underwood and Flinch, we met David Smith, an English teacher and recovering alcoholic who's having a relationship with one of his students, Lisa.

Following a falling out with Lisa, David discovered a letter addressed to him from a solicitor,

the contents of which left him very distraught. But why?

As the curtain rises on this week's episode, we see Lisa making her excuses and leaving her friends in the

pub obviously she's no longer going to go with them to the party. So where is she going, I wonder? Home?

Perhaps. Or maybe somewhere else.

for if we lose her in the crowds, how will we ever find our way into Chapter 2 of Underwood and Flinch?

Lisa left the Cricketers' Pub at just after 11 to return to David's flat.

She didn't want to leave things the way they had done earlier.

She hadn't been able to relax and enjoy herself all night.

As she walked, she wondered if he might have gone to bed early.

He usually went to bed at about 12, provided the students in the flat beneath him weren't having one of their spontaneous

parties, but that hadn't happened for a while now.

She smiled as she remembered how David had gone down to put a stop to it the last time it had woken them up.

It had been two in the morning.

He'd wanted her to stay behind in the flat, but she'd insisted on accompanying him. David had gone down and knocked repeatedly

but patiently on their door. A short time later, a drunken man in his early 20s had opened the door. It was immediately on the defensive,

the music flowing out from behind him at an unmitigated level, while he stood there in the doorway with his chin out and his arms folded across his

chest.
