Hello listeners, how are you? Well, I hope, as I am. So here we are. This is episode two of

season seven, which originally at Patreon was the first episode in a kind of a spin-off from the

main Underwood and Flint storyline. And it was called Still of the Night. And the idea was that it would

follow Damo and Rose and Coleridge and other people left over from Underwood and Flinch Underground

as their adventure in the UK continued. It ran for four episodes and then I stopped it because I realised that the two stories, the Underwood

and Flinch Story and this one, Still of the Night, were not going to run as concurrently as I had

hoped that they might. This one, Still of the Night, would have started giving away big spoilers to the plot of the main

Underwood and Flinch story. You see, because this one would have got farther ahead, while the

Underwood and Fletch story would still be lagging behind. So, yeah, like I say, I had to stop it,

and so I did. But I didn't delete the episodes from Patreon.

I left them there.

And as time went on and I came to abandon the idea of novels in favour of simply podcast seasons,

I realised consciously what I had always understood unconsciously, that the still of the night

chapters that were podcast in the era of the seventh season of Underwood and Flinch were simply

that, episodes of season seven. Now, if you ever sign up at Patreon, you will now see season seven clearly identified in the feed.

But when you listen to the audio of the episodes, when you listen to the intros and so on, you'll hear me refer to the podcasts by their original book titles like Legion, like Still of the Night, and ultimately

the Devil of Claverton, which is what season seven as a book, ultimately manifested into,

you know, because it's a work in progress and you make up the titles and you change the titles

as you go along, if you see what I mean.

So yeah, there we are. I hope that's clear. So where do we begin this one-time spin-off novel,

now second episode of season seven? I'll tell you, it's on the tarmac of the airstrip

that Underwood and Flinch just left behind
