Hello and welcome to this week's naked scientists with me Chris Smith and also

with Cat-Arney Holocaust. Hello. Now coming up this week a molecular sieve

for CO2.

Scientists have found a substance that can grab the CO2

which is in exhaust streams,

and that should help it not go into the atmosphere in future,

important with Copenhagen around the corner.

Also, a new therapy for cystic fibrosis,

how a drug can boost the action of a damaged gene

that normally causes the disease.

And our mobile phones actually off the hook

when it comes to causing cancer.

There's a new study out that sheds some light on the risks and I'll tell you what it is in just a moment, cat.

Thanks, Chris. Also, under the microscope this week is the virus hepatitis C which is spread by blood to blood

contact and it causes liver cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer.

The numbers of people with a disease around the world are increasing but at the moment there's no cure

and there's no vaccine. We'll be hearing how scientists are trying to tackle the

problem of hepsy and what modern medicine can do to help people who are already

infected with it and also how we can protect people that aren't.
