This was originally episode 855, and it was titled Understanding Calibur, Millimeter, Gages, and Ballistics.

And the genesis of this show was back about that time, I put out, I want to do more gun content, guys, some of your gun questions.

And I got dozens and dozens and dozens of some version of this.

Jack, can you do a very basic style show that explains what

all these calibers and rounds mean? Sometimes when you are talking about a firearm subject,

I am fine. Then you start saying something like 38 specialist 35 caliber. I just don't get it.

Or a 40 Smith and Weston is equivalent to a 10 millimeter and a carbine. None of this makes sense. Please help. And there

were a lot more like that. Ballistic coefficient, sexual density, all sorts of questions came in.

So I decided to do this show and go give the basics of basically gauges and calibers and

ballistics overall.

And I have found over the years that, you know, as we get new people and there's plenty of people

who have never heard one of these shows like this that goes into this topic.

And I think it's a fun topic.

I think the more, the less you know, the more valuable it is, but the more you know, the more fun it is to talk about it.
