We talk to a lot of people who live their lives, doing police work, investigative work,

all kinds of things that can be dangerous in the law enforcement universe.

Well, our guest today on Deviant Offscript may actually kind of take the cake at this point for having some of the

craziest stories. We interviewed a gentleman by the name of Scott Payne, and Scott Payne is a retired

FBI agent and spent a large portion of his career diving into the corners of American criminal

activity that I think a lot of us have a really deep-rooted

fascination with. He would go into the corners of American criminal culture that very few of us

have ever experienced. He infiltrated outlaw biker gangs. He infiltrated neo-Nazis. He infiltrated the KKK and armed militia groups

and, you know, extreme ideologies, the folks that live on the fringe. And he's now retired,

but Scott is a fascinating story and a fascinating conversation.

And not just because of the crazy stories,

but because of what these kinds of things did to him,

his psychology,

and sort of the effect that they have on his family.

He's a father.

He's a husband.
