So during the show we talked about the idea of maximum pressure which is the term that's basically the closest thing we have to a Trump doctrine. We're going to talk

about where it comes from, how Trump has used it, and whether it actually works.

And what we'll break down all of this, we won't touch so much on Iran, which is the country receiving

the most maximumist pressure right now.

It's because we are afraid a lot would change between when we taped the episode and when it

would air.

But this will give you a toolkit

to understand what's going on with Iran,

as well as the broad arc of Trump's foreign policy,

But it's really been applied across a vast swath of different foreign policy arenas and it's become kind of a

Watch word and watch concept for the way that the Trump administration thinks and deals particularly with countries it has differences
