Last week, drug company Eli Lilly announced it will release a generic form of its brand-name insulin. The list price of the new

generic drug will be $137 per vial. That's half the list price of its brand-name version, Humelog.

escalating price of insulin, on which diabetics rely for daily symptom management. Insulin was first

discovered as a treatment for diabetic patients more than 100 years ago. When Eli Lilly first
