Are you just got off the phone?

Today is Wednesday and it is about 6.58 a.m.

I started work at 6 a.m.

and my daughter just walked in my room because she had been on the phone all night apparently talking to her best friends.

Are you recording? Yeah, and so she just decided to jump into my bed and she said good night even though my day is just

starting.

That's Jocelyn Guvera and she is holding it down in Vallejo, California,

working from home full time and being a mom to her 15 year old daughter

Nia and she's doing all of this by herself

while also trying to help Nia work out her own disappointments about COVID-19. Here's Nia. It's just not really the year. I was expecting, you know, having to be with my friends, having fun with my marching band

competitions, and having to see all of that being cancelled and just having to spend the first two years

of my high school at home is really disappointing and sad for me.

Anybody with kids in a house can identify with this.

It is hard to see them feel like they're missing out on so much.

And Jocelyn, well, she's just trying to hold it all together. Okay so it's

about 8.27 p.m. I worked from home complete a full day of work which wasn't too

bad and we had dinner and so that was good and I

say that is pretty much at most what we can both accomplish on any given day in COVID.

Learning a lot more about myself as a single parent and as a person through this

pandemic.

I think this is a sign for all of us

that maybe we just need to slow down
