Thursday, February 12th, 1976, was a typically snowy and cold winter day in Calgary.

The weekend seemed far away, and two best friends,

Eva Dvorak and Patsy McQueen, were feeling the doldrums. The 14-year-olds skipped class,

hid out in the girls' washroom, and cracked open a bottle of alcohol. The principal had caught them. She phoned the parents to come and pick up the girls because they were, they began

expelled and going home. They knew that they were going to be punished.

Yeah, we'd get grounded for like a month.

And Patsy and Eva went out the back door and left the school before mom and dad got there.

Upset at the girl's behavior, their families went back home and waited for them to show up later that night.
