Father, the capacity to feel the weight of glory is a gift, and so we pause to ask for it.

The capacity to feel high level expectation

and joy in spiritual things is a gift, a creation of a new heart, a sanctifying, purifying

influence of the Holy Spirit wrought through the Word of God. And so we pray for it. I ask for it. Downtown I

ask for it here. Lord there are hundreds in these two places that should measure their affections for Jesus and their expectations of being with him with the level of anticipation they look forward to the second installment of the Lord of the Rings.

I pray that we would take that measure and then repent and plead that the music of our eagerness would be transposed into the key of Christ.

That we might say with the Apostle Paul,

for me to live is Christ and to die on Tuesday is gay.

Oh God, may your word have a sanctifying, deepening, purifying, emboldening, humbling, healing, reconciling, marriage,

preserving effect today.

Downtown and in Roosevelt,

and wherever the gospel is preached.

In Jesus' precious name, I pray.
