The U.S. Defense Secretary's Itinerary was bound to anger Russia, which announced it was

shuttering its NATO mission and kicking NATO diplomats out of Moscow.

On route to NATO this week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine and Georgia to

Black Sea neighbors that the Russian military invaded and continues to partly occupy.

The former U.S. Ambassador to NATO in Russia says Ukraine remains the biggest flashpoint.

The Russians under Putin like to be unpredictable.

They don't seem to care one way about stability if it gets in the way of trying to dominate

their neighbors.

I thought it was pretty interesting that our Secretary of Defense said we have unwavering

support for Ukraine.

I think it was wavering there for several years as the Russia took a big chunk of it

and we didn't demand they give it back.

It looks pretty wavery to us.

today or I don't know how that will be.
