Summary

Left to our own desires, we’re all selfish and put our needs before the needs of others. This leads to conflict and dissatisfaction in all relationships. The uncommon marriage stands out and is marked by a selflessness that comes from a humble relationship with the Lord and with our spouse.

1) We fight with each other because we’re selfish
2) We fight with God because we’re selfish
3) We fight selfishness with humility

you today. So I've married my wife, Kristen, on September 15th, 2001. So we just celebrated 20 years

of marriage in the fall of 21 coming up. And yeah. And we've got twin boys who were born on May 26, 2004.

And if you know my boys, they're radically different from one another.

And so when they're born, one of them comes out.

Well, they're both screaming because they're babies. But Drew, who was born second, he was one minute after Duncan, Drew screamed for about

the first six months of life. He was a colloquy baby. You're laughing, but it's absolutely true.

1:06.2

Like, he's a colloquy baby, and nothing made the kid comfortable. You'd burp him, you'd feed him, you'd change his diaper, you'd put him on his tummy, you'd put him on his back, you put him over your shoulder, and this kid would just scream constantly. I always say, you know, all babies are created equal in God's eyes. All babies are not created equal when it comes to looks, and Drew was not a good-looking baby.

1:28.3

Okay, he's a great-looking kid now,

1:29.3

but he was skinny and all the crying and screaming,

1:33.3

like ribs sticking out, two long hairs coming from the top of his head.

1:37.3

If you've ever seen Gollum or Smeagle from Lord of the Rings,

1:40.3

that's a little bit of what he looked like as a baby.

1:43.3

Now, his twin brother Duncan had a lot more hair and that's pretty much all we remember

1:49.9

about Duncan.

1:50.9

Like he just, we don't remember him at all.
