Today’s show opens up with Brayden & Derrick talking about their recent duck hunting trip out at Ballard WMA. The crew ended up getting their number one blind from the draw so everyone was pumped to get out there. Unfortunately, like most duck hunters have experienced this year it was a fairly slow day. Unseasonably warm weather has kept the migration from really kicking in this season, but as the day progressed the group had a little bit of success! Hard rain, on and off lighting, and high winds made for a somewhat miserable hunt. We made a plan to wait a bit before heading out but then made our way to the blind just shortly before shooting light. Shooting light opened and ducks were absolutely everywhere. Group after group checked out the spread until finally a group came close enough to shoot at. We pulled up to shoot and Brayden finally got to kill his first duck! Toughing out the weather definitely ended up as a great idea for the group because the hunting picked up as the day progressed.
