You might know Pete Thamel. That's the thing. All right. Okay. Let me wrap my point. I'll tell you why it's Pete Thamble. Two reasons why. One public, one private.

looks like he's no longer going to be the Carolina coach. It's just a matter of when. What are the mechanics? Shelby Swanson, News and Observer. She'll join us in a little bit to kind of get into the mechanics of it all. Because they've tried this once before recently. It did not work out the way they wanted it to. And I'm afraid it's going to play out the same way with Hubert Davis. But here's why I think it's going to be Pete Thammell. This was the last appearance Thamel had. Pete, what is the latest from North Carolina in the coaching situation with Hubert Davis?

Well, Reese, the Hubert Davis watch continues, as we reported yesterday here, his return as

North Carolina's coach remains unlikely. The timing and the mechanics of that expected

departure are still being hashed out.

Right after this show on ESPN, North Carolina's women's team hosts an NCAA sub-regional there.

Once that event is cleared through with UNC's administrators, expects more focus to be on Davis's

situation. Look, Reese, as we said yesterday, there's not an expectation

that UNC is going to fire Hubert Davis. I've been told that some type of orchestrated

resignation has been discussed and there's a potential outcome here for Hubert Davis and
