Summary

This week on the Active Self Protection Podcast we sit down with Australian citizen Mark and discuss the night he and a female companion were accosted by a knife-weilding carjacker and what it was like to try to defend himself in a country where carriage of virtually all defensive weapons is illegal. Then we sit down with investigative reporter Stephen Gutowski of the reload.com and discuss Tuesdays midterm election results and what they might mean for the Second Amendment moving forward.

Active Self Protection exists to help good, sane, sober, moral, prudent people in all walks of life to more effectively protect themselves and their loved ones from criminal violence. On the ASP Podcast you will hear the true stories of life or death self defense encounters from the men and women that lived them. If you are interested in the Second Amendment, self defense and defensive firearms use, martial arts or the use of less lethal tools used in the real world to defend life and family, you will find this show riveting.  Join host and career federal agent Mike Willever and the rest of the ASP staff as they talk to real life survivors and hear their stories in depth. You'll hear about these incidents and the self defenders from well before the encounter occurred on through the legal and emotional aftermath. Music: bensound.com

And I'm trying to process what's happening. What's he doing? Is he drunk? Carjacking wasn't even in my mind. He started to pull on the door. All right, gang. Check it out. We have a special guest this week for a guest spot. His name is Chris Greenfield. He is the host, I take it, of a new podcast. Talk to us about it, Chris. What's got what do you got going on with her?

0:24.0

Yeah, I take it, of a new podcast. Talk to us about it, Chris. What's got?

0:22.3

What do you got going on over there? Yeah, I'm, me and the crew over at Big Tech's ordinance launched a

0:28.3

podcast back in September. You know, we'd always have people come by the store or come by the

0:34.6

warehouse or buddies that we know from the training circuit come in and we'd sit

0:39.7

there and talk to them for an hour or two hours we stood around in the warehouse with stefeisher one

0:44.2

day for an hour and a half and got done and we just looked at each other and we're like wow i wish we

0:48.5

could have recorded that and put that on air to share with everybody and so so we move some stuff around, we move some offices

0:57.2

around, we set up a really cool, we call it the pod lab. And now anytime somebody's in town,

1:02.7

we have them come by, we sit down, we talk for an hour, we talk for two hours, we'll break

1:08.4

that up into our segments if we need to.

1:13.2

We take our equipment on the road with us.

1:18.9

We went to Shooter's Symposium a couple of weeks ago, and we did eight or nine interviews out there.

1:20.5

We've already published a bunch of them. But, I mean, we sat down and had a conversation with some of the leaders in the training industry like Steve Fisher, Chuck Presby, Jamie Caldwell, you know, some of Jared Reston. I don't know if you had, you had Reston on your show yet. I have not, no. We don't have a lot of instructors on this show. Maybe he may have been on the extra channel at some point but I'm not aware I'm not sure yeah

1:44.4

he's he's one of those mindset dudes you know the guy got shot in the face like five times

1:48.6

and finished the fight and want it and so like being able to sit down with those dudes like we

1:53.3

normally do and share those stories those interactions those laughs with our audiences audience is pretty cool to be able to do it

2:04.4

and share it with our audience. You know, we set out, we set out to not make it an hour commercial.

2:12.0

We rarely talk about products. We rarely, and even if it is, it's a, it's a joke. You know, right, right. Oh,

2:18.3

we just got that in. You can grab it. A big text ordinance. That's an aisle 73. It's right down the way there. Check it out. It's right there. If you put it in your cart right now, you'll have it by two days for now. But we, we don't like to do that. We like to share our experiences because not everybody gets to sit down and talk to the dudes we get to sit down and talk to. Yeah, I love the idea that it's almost like a fly on the wall kind of thing. Like you were going to have this conversation anyway. You were going to shoot the bull, shoot the breeze and bus chops for an hour or so after a training session. And so it makes perfect sense that, you know, you're going to, if you record this, people can listen to it, you know, and kind of listen in and what you guys would talk about anyway. It's kind of cool. I like the idea. Yeah. It's really neat. What's the name of the show and where can they find it? The Big Tech's Ordinance podcast. We were very clever. Yeah, that is clever. You know, I was going to go with the Mike Williver's show, but John insisted we call it the active self-protection podcast, which is so literal.

You know what I mean?
