prime minister, an NBA champion in health care. But it also has a new initiative to ban single-use

plastics, which seems great. Plastic bags, canvas bags, they work great. Plastic water bottles,

those are huge rip offs anyway. They can be easily packaged with things other than plastic

and plastic straws. Oh no. If you listen to the gist you know, I am quite a fan of plastic straws.

I find the alternatives to be lacking and also I know the statistics. Banting plastic straws

would do nothing to solve any real problems in the real world because the problem of plastics

in the ocean is a problem of 0.03% of oceanic waste. That's right, 0.03% of the plastic in the oceans.

Come from straws. There is but one silver lining to this. It's that I love making analogies,

bringing to life just how small 0.03% is. Do you remember an act two scene two of the

tempest when Caliban says thydog and thibush? Do you remember that? No, you don't because it was

unimportant. But those five words make up a greater percentage of the overall tempest than do all

the straws and all the oceans. Or how about this? The golden state warriors did not win but they

did score almost 10,000 total points last season. So take any random game. I chose the 50th
