Welcome to the program everyone. I'm Christiana Manpur in Kiev, where the nation is reeling from yet another catastrophic Russian attack. As of now, more than 50 people are dead in a ballistic missile strike on a military educational facility and a hospital in the central Ukrainian city of Poltava, there's much more than a hundred injured.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry said that the time between the air raid alarm and the strike was so short that it caught people as they were trying to get to shelter.

It's one of the deadliest single attacks on Ukraine since Russia invaded February 2022. That's 30 months ago.

And the Ukrainian government said tonight

that both civilians and servicemen were among the casualties.

President Zelensky has responded to this attack

with a plea for more support, saying, quote,
