Today, the classified document leaker has been arrested by the FBI.

Welcome to the news and why it matters. I am Sarah Gonzalez and the man who allegedly leaked hundreds of classified United States military documents was arrested by the FBI earlier this afternoon.

Now here is what we know. His name is Jack Teixeira. He is a 21 year old U.S. air national guardsman from Massachusetts who was stationed at Fort Bragg.

He also ran a private discord server called Thug Shaker Central, which had about 20 to 30 members, most of which who were young men and teenagers who shared a love of guns, memes and video games according to the Washington Post.

So make of that what you will. The documents that to share a leak to the server ranged from whereabouts of high ranking political leaders to tactical updates on military forces and sensitive materials relating to the Ukraine war.

It also contained geopolitical analysis exposed the U.S. spying on its allies and documented insight to foreign government efforts to interfere with elections.

Attorney General Garland held a very brief press conference this afternoon confirming the arrest watch.

Today the Justice Department arrested Jack Douglas Teixeira in connection with an investigation into alleged unauthorized removal, retention and transmission of classified national defense information.

Teixeira is an employee of the United States Air Force National Guard. FBI agents took Teixeira into custody earlier this afternoon without incident.

He will have an initial appearance at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. I want to thank the FBI, Justice Department prosecutors and our colleagues at the Department of Defense for their diligent work on this case.

This investigation is ongoing. We will share more information at the appropriate time.

I mean the president himself stores his own classified documents in his garage right next to his fancy corvette that his crackhead son loves to take for a spin.

One still has to wonder how a 21 year old air national guardsman had access to documents on Ukraine war plans and classified material in the first place.
