| 1:18.9 | not just the West, but much of the world. He has announced sanctions that are |
| 1:23.1 | more far-reaching than any ever inflicted on a major economy. The results are |
| 1:28.6 | already evident. Russia's stock market and the rubble are in tatters. But |
| 1:33.8 | despite all this, economic sanctions have rarely forced a country to reverse |
| 1:38.6 | this path, let alone caused regime change. In the few cases where they do appear |
| 1:43.6 | to have had some effect, South Africa with apartheid Iran with its nuclear |
| 1:48.1 | enrichment, sanctions were usually widely enforced and comprehensive. Because |
| 1:54.1 | key countries like China, India and the Gulf states are unlikely to |
