0:06.6	We're waiting right now for Republican lawmakers in that state to reaffirm a new abortion
0:11.3	bill that the state's Democratic governor Roy Cooper said last night in this broadcast
0:15.4	would turn the clock back 50 years for women.
0:18.3	He vetoed the Republican past measure, which bans most abortion after 12 weeks and imposes
0:23.9	other limitations, making it harder to get even before that 12-week period.
0:28.7	This afternoon the state Senate overrode his veto.
0:31.5	So now we're waiting to hear from the House where this all could hinge on a single vote
0:35.9	seen as dying Gallagher is in Raleigh Forest tonight.
0:38.4	So where does the ever to override the governor's veto stand now?
0:44.6	Well, Anderson, as we speak at this moment, the North Carolina State House is currently debating
0:50.2	over this bill, Senate bill 20 and whether or not they will override that veto a little
0:56.7	bit earlier today after about an hour of debate in the Senate.
1:00.8	They chose and passed that veto override on a party line 30 to 20 vote.
1:07.2	That was the first part of this two-part process.
1:10.6	Now, this is when it gets a little bit tricky here because it's a numbers game.
1:14.4	So in order to override the veto in the House, after this particular debate that is happening
1:19.5	right now, they need to have three fifths of the voting and present members there.
1:25.7	Now, if all Republicans and all Democrats are there, Republicans do have enough members
1:31.1	if they all vote to override, but that is the key.
