Summary

Special Counsel John Durham concluded that the FBI used “raw, unanalyzed and uncorroborated intelligence” to launch an investigation into former President Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 election. Former FBI Deputy Director and CNN Senior Law Enforcement Analyst Andrew McCabe was mentioned in Durham’s report. He joins AC360 to discuss the findings and why he “vehemently” disagrees with the way Durham’s characterizes what the FBI did. 0:06.1	John Durham, the special counsel chosen by the Attorney General William Barr to investigate
0:10.7	the FBI's Russian investigation has reached a conclusion.
0:14.2	In a 306-page report released today, Durham says the FBI should never have opened the
0:19.0	investigation known as Crossfire Hurricane at all, including that the Bureau overly relied
0:23.9	on raw and unconfirmed intelligence, writing that they lacked evidence at the outset of
0:28.5	collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
0:31.4	This stands at odds with the 2019 Justice Department Inspector General's conclusion that
0:35.9	there was adequate basis for opening the inquiry.
0:38.5	Well, talk shortly with Andrew McCabe, who was at the FBI at the time, joins us.

0:51.0	does not, as he once claimed it would, reveal, quote, the crime of the century.

1:00.5	Well, Anderson, the lack of any new prosecutions, that stands out because we were expecting,
1:06.7	certainly we were led to believe, by the former president, by the former administration,
1:11.8	that this investigation was going to find crimes.
1:14.0	They were going to find conspiracy by the deep state to go after Donald Trump.
1:19.0	What John Durham concludes here is that there was no necessarily political bias.
