One of the most important public inquiries in British history is now getting underway

in a bit to understand and determine what ministers got right and what they got wrong

before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emminoris is the Deputy Director at the Institute for Government, which is an independent

think tank that had been calling for a COVID-19 inquiry and I began by asking her to explain what the

inquiry is attempting to achieve.

So the COVID inquiry is a public inquiry, a kind of investigation that is looking at what happened during the pandemic in a whole range of ways.
