a stat that said that restaurant eating out now okay hold on whoa whoa back the truck

up beep beep here we go we do not care what you spend your money on here at YNAB that's

why this business is so fun we don't have to slap your wrist and when we see you spending

money we get to just clap we get to clap instead because you're spending money that is

lined up with what you care about and that is a pause worthy that is that's something

to celebrate so I do not care what you spend your money on okay now with that out of

the way the stat was something like we are 20% over our 2019 credit card spending right

now so of course 2020 we dropped plummeted precipitously so quickly and we all did know what

was going on and we were all just trying to figure out something that not a single live

person to my recollection or knowledge had ever experienced in their life so we're all

figuring that out spending falls to the floor savings hits 30 plus percent which is very abnormal

for these United States at least and that was all to be expected now we're seeing now this

is off of 2019 not 2020 at 20% boost off of 2020 you wouldn't need me writing about it

you'd be like well yeah where's the other 80% but this is off of 2019 we're we're up way

up over our 2019 spending that gave me a little pause is it pent up demand yeah for sure is it

people just I mean we're just we've been waiting and waiting and waiting let's go right it's

got to be some of that it's got to absolutely be some of that is it a little bit of like I don't

know the pendulum swing in the other way for sure that kinetic energy swung one way and then we

reach that far end and now it's swinging back and it's going to exceed that equilibrium that nice
